Write for us
We welcome pitches that help curious listeners hear a song or musical choice more clearly, with a defined subject and a useful point of view.
What to pitch
Propose a focused piece about songcraft, sound, rhythm, instruments or listening. A strong pitch names its central question, explains what a reader will be able to notice, and identifies the songs or examples that make the idea concrete.
What makes a good contribution
Keep claims proportionate and distinguish audible details from interpretation. Explain technical terms in plain English, use examples purposefully, and avoid treating personal taste as a verdict. We do not accept unsupported claims, promotional copy disguised as criticism, or material copied from elsewhere.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select editorial question or general as the reason for writing. Include a short pitch and any relevant writing samples or links in your message. A proposal is not a commission; we will consider it before requesting a full draft.
A song rewards a closer listen
We look at musical choices one at a time, so you can hear how they work without needing formal training or a score.
